More than 100,000 US users are being warned by a lender that their information may be at risk due to a data breach caused by a third party.
According to new filings made with Maine Attorney General, members of Illinois-based MidAmerica Credit Union are affected by the cyberattack on Marquis Software Solutions (a MACU vendor).
A total of 131 070 people have been affected.
Marquis Software Solutions (Marquis), a MACU vendor, informed MACU on or around August 14, 2025 that they had detected suspicious activity in their network. They determined the activity to be the result of an incident involving cybersecurity.
Marquis launched an investigation to determine that an unauthorised third party had accessed Marquis computing environment, and could have acquired and accessed certain files on its system. Marquis sent MACU a list on October 27, 2025 of MACU information that may have been accessed .”
Personal information is comprised of first names, last names and Social Security Numbers.
Marquis in conjunction with Epiq is sending out notification letters and MACU offers 24 months of credit monitoring services, including fraud consultation and identity restoration.
