Hackers have breached the system of a third party vendor, causing two US banks to alert tens and thousands of their customers.
Artisans’ Bank, a Delaware community bank, filed a report with the Office of the Maine attorney general stating that a cyber-attack at Marquis Software Solutions has affected 32,344 of its customers.
Marquis is a software company that specializes in managing data for customers, marketing, and compliance. It serves banks, credit Unions, and correctional institutions.
Hackers may have stolen names and Social Security Numbers from customers, according to the company.
Artisans learned on or around October 28, 2025 that Marquis Software Solutions had conducted an investigation and determined that an unauthorised third party gained access to Marquis’ systems as early as at least August 14, 2025. Marquis carried out an investigation that led Artisans to learn only very recently about the possible impact on their customers’ information .”
According to a filing by the Office of the Maine attorney general, the Texas community bank VeraBank is also affected by the same breach.
VeraBank reports that 37 318 customers may have had their sensitive data exposed, including names, addresses, and credit card numbers.
Marquis is the only environment that was affected by this data breach, according to the bank.
