The victims of data breaches who can prove that they have suffered direct economic losses as a result of the breach may be eligible for compensation up to $5,000.
The California-based company denies all wrongdoing.
Members of the settlement class are eligible for credit monitoring services and protection against identity theft. These services will be provided to them free of charge over a three-year period. Identity theft coverage of up to $1,000,000 is included in the credit monitoring service.
By the 24th of March, all settlement claims should be filed. Those who wish to raise objections to the agreement must also do so before the 24th of March. On May 14, the final hearing will take place to approve this settlement.
