T-mobile is beginning to pay out $350 million in class actions settlements for millions of customers who were affected by massive data breaches and hacks.
The settlement administrator has confirmed that the payment of settlements will begin in the coming weeks.
Cyberattack 2021 exposed names, Social Security Numbers, addresses and other personal information of an astounding 76,000,000 US customers.
T-Mobile has agreed to a settlement by July 2022 for claims arising from August 2021.
The amount of the payment will vary from $25 up to $100. Some customers may be eligible to receive as much as $25,000 in compensation for significant documented losses.
Customers who are affected will also receive two free years of identity protection service.
T-Mobile was accused of not protecting customer information in the wake of this breach. It is one of largest breaches ever recorded by Americans.
T-Mobile has said that it has enhanced its security protocols in order to avoid future incidents. The company also did not acknowledge any wrongdoing as part of the settlement.
