Senator Ron Johnson: The ‘Gravy Train of US spending’ could come to an end, leaving lower income Americans in poverty

Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson claims that America’s excessive spending may lead to a collapse of its social system.

Johnson said in a recent interview with Tucker Carlson that those who live on benefits may one day be left high and dry, if government cannot afford to continue funding its welfare state despite running huge deficits.

Says Johnson

You may be denied these benefits if you are living off of different welfare payments, transfer payments, or other types. We can’t afford to borrow any more, so we will have to use the money that we would have spent on government programs to pay off our debt. If we don’t want to default, you have to pay off the debt.

It will be difficult to continue printing dollars, as people won’t accept them. We can print money and send it overseas. People will make products, ship them here at low costs, of high quality. It’s because of this that we have been able keep the inflation under control, and produce all of these huge deficits in the past two decades.

Paper is all we can give to billions of unemployed or underemployed people around the globe. We provide them with the capital. They build the factories and produce the goods. We print fiat money, keep on printing, it has been a pretty good thing. The gravy train may stop at some point. .”
