According to reports, several families in North Texas have unfinished houses or renovations after a couple diverted millions of dollars from custom home construction and remodeling projects for their personal use.
CBS News reports that Christopher and Raquelle Judge of Judge DFW LLC collected large amounts of money – supposedly from clients for renovations, interior design and custom homes – but had no intention of completing the projects.
Court documents claim that the couple lured customers on social media by offering low prices and promising quick turnarounds. The scheme cost about $4.8million and included at least 24 different construction projects.
Christopher Judge, his company and the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners issued a warning in May 2022 for falsely declaring that Christopher Judge was an architect.
According to the report, the judges used some of their money on personal expenses such as rent, mortgages and luxury items, or even cosmetic surgery.
According to astatement , the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas, the couple used victims’ payments on unrelated construction jobs.
Christopher Judge plead guilty to conspiracy of wire fraud and faces up to 20 years behind bars. Raquelle Judge faces a maximum of five years in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit fraud by wire.
