After admitting to being behind a $45.65million fraud attempt against financial institutions, a Nebraska investment advisor could face up 30 years of prison.
Jesse Hill (35), has pleaded to guilty of conspiracy to commit fraud against banks and will be sentenced by the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the District of Nebraska in September.
In 2020, Hill and a real estate agent who was not named partnered to try and secure financial loans in Nebraska and Western Iowa. Loans were sought in the name and business entity of an unnamed real estate agent who passed away in 2022.
According to the U.S. attorney, Hill claimed falsely that an unnamed person was his client and gave fake information regarding funds held by the person in Hill’s investment vehicles.
Hill would falsify that other financial institutions had no security interests in the fictitious account. Hill and Individual 1 engaged with financial institutions to help facilitate loan processes. This included meeting in person with financial institutions, communicating via telephone, text messaging, or email. Hill was aware that Individual 1, Individual 1’s entities, and Hill were making false representations to financial institutions to get loans.
Hill and this individual tried to obtain $45.65 millions in loan money from 19 different financial institutions.
The majority of defrauded money was directed to a failed investment plan, a Puerto Rico property and a stake in a privately owned plane.
