Franklin Templeton, a major investment company, says that it actively monitors five aspects of the Bitcoin ecosystem (BTC).

Asset management company says that it’s excited about Bitcoin development following approval of BTC ETFs earlier in the year.

Franklin Templeton, in particular, is closely monitoring Bitcoin’s layer-2s (reshaping/native yield primitives), ordinals, Decentralized Finance (DeFi)/runes, and BTC’s OP_CAT proposition.

Bitcoin Ordinals allows users to inscribe data, such as digital images or videos, onto a satoshi (or a unit of BTC) to create non-fungible Tokens on the Bitcoin Network.

Runes aims at making the creation of fungible Bitcoin tokens more efficient.

The scripting function OP_CAT was spiked by Satoshi Nakamoto in 2010, the pseudonymous BTC creator. According to OKX, a Bitcoin Improvement Proposal proposes the return of the feature.

OKX – What is it?

It is an extension of the scripting capabilities in Bitcoin. Concatenation is a programming process that combines multiple data sources into one output. This makes transactions easier and allows for complex smart contracts .”

Franklin Templeton says that it is also monitoring the Ethereum ecosystem (ETH).

“Investing in ETH is ownership of the Ethereum Blockchain, the largest ecosystem decentralized. The modular stack is undergoing constant innovation. We are particularly excited by:

* Parallel Execution * Restaking Primitives * Alternative [Data Availability] * Blob utilization post EIP 4844”

The network is capable of processing multiple transactions simultaneously. According to CoinGecko, it aims to aid in scaling.

According to Ethereum.org, data availability is “the level of confidence that a user has in the fact that all participants on the network have access to relevant data to verify a particular block.” Caldera, a rollup platform for deployments, notes that an alternative data accessibility is a layer in which blockchains have access to the relevant data.

Etherscan says “Blobs”, or dedicated data storage areas, are designed to lower transaction fees.
