Coinbase has rolled out a new suite of products that strengthens financial services for AI agents across payments, trading, and software development. The latest updates allow businesses to receive automated USDC payments, enable AI systems to execute crypto trades under user-defined conditions, and simplify payment integration for developers. Consequently, the company continues positioning itself at the center of the growing AI-driven digital economy as autonomous software increasingly performs online financial tasks.
AI Agents Gain Payment and Trading Capabilities
Coinbase Business now allows merchants to accept USDC payments directly from AI agents without additional configuration. The feature relies on Coinbase Payments and the open x402 payment standard, delivering instant settlement while removing chargeback concerns. Additionally, businesses can generate reusable payment links and automatically collect buyer information for reconciliation and analytics.
Moreover, Coinbase expanded Coinbase for Agents with new trading tools that provide live market prices, order book access, volume data, and open-order monitoring. Users can also create automated instructions that trigger trades after specific market movements, including a 5% Ethereum price decline.
Developers Receive Simpler AI Payment Infrastructure
Coinbase also introduced the CDP x402 SDK, allowing developers to integrate AI payment acceptance into APIs, MCP servers, or web services using only three lines of code. Besides reducing technical complexity, the toolkit bundles payment infrastructure with recommended extensions. Hence, developers can launch AI-ready applications faster while supporting automated digital transactions across online platforms.
