Weak whale flow in XRP suggests caution despite increasing investor appetite for exposure.
Experts in the market are increasingly convinced that BlackRock’s spot XRP ETFs and Solana ETFs, which are now available, will be the “next logical” step for the world’s biggest asset manager.
Nate Geraci of NovaDius Wealth Management suggested that BlackRock may already be preparing such a move. This would mark a significant milestone for the mainstream acceptance of these assets.
Why is Nate Geraci so confident? He’s not the only one. CoinEdition reported previously when another top ETF analyst called a BlackRock ETF ‘inevitable’.
BlackRock’s Multichain Strategy is Already Underway
Recent BlackRock actions show that the firm is already embracing a multi-chain world. The firm has already tokenized an Ethereum money market fund and expanded it to other networks including Solana. This strategy shows an intention to leverage the strengths of different ecosystems.
Adding Solana and XRP would be in line with their broader trend to diversify blockchain exposure. It builds on their success in the crypto sector, where they already manage the world’s biggest Bitcoin ETF and have recently introduced a major Ether Fund.
Why hasn’t BlackRock filed yet?
BlackRock has not filed any official documents for Solana or spot XRP ETFs, despite the increasing speculation. Geraci believes this is a deliberate delay by BlackRock as it waits for more clarity from the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The SEC is key. Here’s a past analysis of a new crypto regulation that could speed up future Solana ETF and XRP ETF approbations.
This strategic timing will allow BlackRock avoid regulatory hurdles, and give them an advantage as the first mover once the rules become clear. By positioning itself for rapid movement in a more predictable environment, BlackRock can maintain its leadership and meet growing investor demand.
XRP is still a bearish asset despite the hype surrounding ETFs
But current on-chain XRP data is flashing an alarm while the hype around ETFs for long-term investments grows.
Whale flows for XRP are now sharply negative. This pattern historically signals distribution by large holders and often occurs before a price correction. This structural weakness could persist unless this trend of whales accumulation resumes.
As of the time of publication, XRP is trading at $2.99 with a daily volume exceeding $3.7 billion. The weekly performance is still negative, with a drop of over 5%, despite a 1.61 percent increase in the last 24 hour. While investor demand for spot ETFs continues to grow, timing is still critical.
