An American social media influencer will spend 16 years behind bars after swindling the US Government out of $1,000,000.
According to the ABC affiliate news station WWSB, Danielle Miller admitted bank fraud by pleading guilty on 38 counts for fraudulently using personal information.
Miller, according to prosecutors in Florida has robbed multiple banks of over $1 million dollars in loans related to pandemics using stolen identities from more than ten individuals.
A bank manager realised what was going on and alerted the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.
Miller, according to the then acting United States Attorney Joshua S. Levy used stolen funds to fund her extravagant lifestyle.
The woman posted pictures of her lavish use of fraudulent proceeds to her Instagram account, which has more than 34,000 subscribers.
“Ms. Miller is not an influencer. She is a felon. Miller stole identities to get over $1.2m in loans for pandemic relief that were supposed to go to those in need.
Ms. Miller, in her quest to become a social media celebrity, used fraud to finance a luxurious lifestyle, including private jets and luxury apartments, as well as other wealth-enhancing accoutrements.”
