A notable shift has occurred in XRP, as it experienced a record outflow of $37.2M, ending its long streak of 80-weeks inflows, reports CoinShares.
Last week, digital asset investment products attracted $3.3 billion in capital, marking their sixth consecutive week with steady capital flows. This strong run has driven net inflows to a record high of $10,8 billion for the year. Total assets under management (AuM), which includes these products, also reached a new record high of $187.5 Billion, indicating a growing investor interest in digital assets.
CoinShares’ report states that investors have been diversifying into digital assets due to growing concerns over the U.S. economic situation, particularly after Moody’s downgraded credit rating and rising Treasury yields. The United States led the inflows with $3.2 billion of new capital.
Bitcoin and Ethereum Lead inflows as XRP’s Streak Ends
Bitcoin was the most popular investment, with $2.9 Billion entering the market in the previous week. These funds will make up approximately 25% of the total inflows by 2024. Many investors have increased their portfolios as Bitcoin has risen above $111 800. Some investors have taken advantage of the growth in Bitcoin by investing in short Bitcoin, which has seen the highest weekly inflows since December 2024.

Ethereum was next with $326 millions in inflows. This is the fifth week with capital gains, and the largest inflows for 15 weeks. The sustained interest comes from the improved market sentiment towards the token.
The outflow of $37.2 Million last week ended XRP’s 80-week streak of inflows. This is the largest outflow in XRP history, and it breaks the string of continuous inflows that the token has seen since early 2024.
Global Capital Flows Show Mixed Tendences
Capital transfers outside the U.S. showed mixed results. Inflows to Germany, Australia and Hong Kong totaled respectively $41.5 million ($10,9 million) and $33.3 millions. These numbers, although lower than those of the U.S.A., still reflect international investor participation.
In the last week, investors in Switzerland took advantage recent price increases and withdrawn $16.6 million. Sweden also saw outflows in the amount of $12.1 million, while Brazil recorded outflows in the amount of $1.9 million. The rising trends indicate investors’ profit-taking, or portfolio rebalancing as digital asset prices rise.
James Butterfill, Head of Research at CoinShares, noted that investors are seeking alternative assets due to the uncertainty in the U.S. Economy. He said: “We believe that investors are seeking diversification by investing in digital assets due to growing concerns about the U.S. economic situation, triggered by the Moody’s rating downgrade and the spike in Treasury yields.”

The figures show that investors continue to prefer digital asset investment products despite changing macroeconomic conditions. Despite some XRP outflows, investors have confidence in Bitcoin and Ethereum as these major cryptocurrencies lead the inflows.
