Citizens JMP’s senior analyst says it may still be possible to make an investment in SoFi Technologies Inc.
Devin Ryan believes that shares in the neobank may reach $17 again by 2026’s second quarter. The price target he has set for SOFI represents a 35 percent increase from the current level.
Ryan believes that the exceptional growth potential of the company, its strong product cycle and improved profitability will help it reach new milestones by 2025.
SoFi does not pay dividends at the moment.
Why is SoFi stock such a great investment?
SoFi announced last week that its Cosmos fund allows users to gain access to highly valuable private companies such as Anthropic SpaceX and SpaceX.
Devin Ryan said that the new product could help to increase what he called a substantial earnings potential, which is currently being undervalued.
In a note he sent to clients, he said that SOFI had reached GAAP profitability by 2024. “This is a turning point for SOFI… and offers a compelling investment opportunity over the long term.”
Citizens JMP anticipates that the Nasdaq listed firm will grow its revenue overall by 25 percent this year, and another 26 percent in 2026.
SoFi’s stock has nearly tripled its value compared to the 52-week low.
SOFI’s technology platform offers huge potential for growth
Ryan at Citizens is optimistic about SoFi shares, despite the challenging macroeconomic environment. The firm’s tech segment also has an addressable market worth up to $20 billion.
The SOFI penetration rate in this market is currently at a maximum of 2.0%.
Analysts expect a continuing increase in membership to lead to an annual revenue rise of over 40% for the tech division in the company in the next five-year period. This would be a significant acceleration from the 24% growth year-on-year in SoFi’s technology platform during its Q4 fiscal.
Other Wall Street analysts “do not” agree with Ryan. The consensus rating for SoFi is currently “hold”.
Why are SoFi Shares worth buying in 2025?
Devin Ryan praised the fintech in his research report and mentioned low costs of customer acquisition as another reason to purchase SoFi shares in 2025.
In his last research note, he said that the firm’s modern app ecosystem, as well as its ownership of the value chain, provides better customer experiences, encourages multi-product use, and speeds up the growth of members and lifetime values.
SoFi’s shares look attractive because the company is known for beating Wall Street expectations.
The latest release of its earnings in late January was the fourth time in a row that it had exceeded expectations.
It’s worth noting that SOFI once traded for more than $25.
