Elon Musk has just vowed to take legal action against European authorities. He did this as usual through a social media post.
In context, today the European Commission declared that X (formerly Twitter) was violating Europe’s Digital Services Act.
Musk retaliated immediately.
In December of last year, the commission began an initial investigation into this platform. On Tuesday, some of the results of the investigation have been made public.
The Commission was mainly worried about X’s use of the blue checkmark. Back in the Twitter era, a person could only obtain a blue checkmark if they could prove their status as an important personality.
Musk renamed X and announced the ability to get the blue checkmark by paying.
Elon Musk’s platform could be fined millions of dollars by the commission, who claims that this practice was misleading. X may be fined up to 6% of global revenue.
Musk, however, isn’t holding back. He is prepared to go to court.
The fight may look exciting online but it could be a serious issue for many American tech firms and companies around the world. Europe will not budge and wants to enforce the DSA with all its force.
It will create a precedent for future companies if it does not do this. The EU doesn’t want to appear weak, especially since American companies are often fined in Europe.
This is a fight for the truth, according to many Americans. Many Americans feel that the mainstream media is feeding them propaganda. A politically charged atmosphere in the United States has also added to their discontent. They think Musk should be supported to expose the mainstream press.
Many people believe that Elon Musk and Trump are the two most influential individuals capable of saving our world from mainstream propaganda. Musk and Trump thrive off of this type public reaction. Elon is able to further enhance his image by fighting in Europe.
It remains to be determined if the American billionaire will win this battle. For the moment, it appears that X will not back down from his fight in court.
The post Musk claims the European Commission has offered X a secret, illegal deal could be updated as new information becomes available
