The family office managed by BitMEX’s co-founder Arthur Hayes has just launched a new grant program to help advance the Bitcoin network (BTC).
Maelstrom has announced that it will fund Bitcoin developers to help them improve the technology of Bitcoin.
Maelstrom relies, as do other businesses in this space, on the open-source Bitcoin developer’s work. We want to donate money to Bitcoin, the technology that is the foundation of the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
Grants will range from $50,000 up to $150,000 for each successful applicant. These grants will be made in BTC or USDC in monthly payments over the course of a year.
The grantees will be expected to contribute to the development of Bitcoin by submitting pull requests, reviewing work or other technical contributions.
The program’s objective is to improve Bitcoin’s resilience, scaling, resistance to censorship, and privacy features.
Before August 25, developers should submit applications. Maelstrom states that the grant will be likely awarded in the third quarter or the fourth quarter.
