In a recent privacy settlement, a popular streaming service has agreed to compensate customers with millions of dollars.
Tubi, a streaming service that has been accused of sharing private data without permission with others, will now pay out $19.99 Million.
Terms of the settlement are applicable to those who used Tubi from June 23, 2021 until August 26, 2024.
Tubi has been accused of breaking the Video Privacy Protection Act by sharing information with advertisers. It did not admit any wrongdoing as part of the settlement.
Unknown is the exact amount that users can expect to get as a settlement, and it depends on how many applicants apply.
On October 31, 2024, the deadline for inclusion in settlements is fast approaching. The settlement hearing will be held in December.
Tubi users may file a claim using their email address used to log in.
Tubi was launched in San Francisco in 2014. More than 250 channels are available, with shows and movies of all genres.
