The native token DOOD was released on May 9 by the NFT project Doodles. The asset was distributed to the users at 3pm CET.
Many platforms, such as Bybit Alpha, Binance Alpha, and KuCoin, have declared their support of DOOD.
CoinGecko reports that the Doodles token price dropped about 5%, to $0.0075. Out of the total 10 billion DOOD issued, 7.8 billion are currently in circulation.
Tokenomics states that 30% will go to the community and 17% goes to the team. The remaining 25% is allocated as an eco-fund.
The Block reported that DreamNet was also unveiled along with the token. It is a protocol decentralized for AI powered “story creation”. DOOD will be awarded to users whose creativity is used for games or animations.
Doodles also released an office survival-game called Lord of the Files, with a total prize pool of DOOD 500,000.
What is Doodles NFT?
Doodles was the first generative collection of NFTs. It was launched in October 2020 and became quickly one of Web3’s most popular projects. Doodles’ vibrant palette of pastels, its hand-drawn character designs, and its instantly recognisable aesthetic captured the hearts and wallets (across the world) of collectors.
Every NFT from the original Doodles is an individually generated, PFP, combining different traits such as hats and hairstyles. Doodles is a collection of absurdist images, from cats dressed in spacesuits to skaters wearing banana suits.
The art is only the beginning. Its community-first philosophy was the real innovation. Holders of Doodles NFT were granted early governance rights. This included voting on roadmap suggestions and treasury allotments. The participatory model was a keystone for the brand, and it helped to foster the loyalty of one of NFT’s most loyal communities.
Doodles has evolved from being a collectible into a Web3 brand that includes games, music and wearables. It also hosts real-world events and real-time activities.
Doodles NFTs was a precursor to DOOD in many ways. Doodles NFTs have gone beyond being digital artwork to becoming passports that open up a world of creative interactivity and ownership.
