The release of Binance’s executive Tigran Gamaryan from Nigerian custody is one of the biggest crypto stories this week.
Gambaryan is a US national who has been in detention for nearly eight months after being arrested late February.

Ripple
The US Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC), and Ripple, have also made headlines for their appeals filed in the ongoing court battle. The SEC and Ripple’s legal team maintain that XRP does not qualify as a financial instrument, and haven’t challenged this.
The fact that the co-founder of Ripple donated $10 million dollars to Kamala Harris’ campaign attracted considerable attention.
Hack of US Government Crypto wallet
In the coming weeks, many people will be interested in this story about a hacker who stole $20 million dollars from an American government wallet.
In a swift turn of events the hacker was able to return $19.2 millions back into the wallet.
US prosecutors are planning to offer a deal to Eric Council Jr. who was recently arrested after he hacked SEC’s X account back in January.
ZachXBT reports that the attacker of the US Government address transferred $2,408 Ethereum and 13,19 million USDC back to the compromised US government addresses. The amount doesn’t include the funds transferred to exchanges like HitBTC, Switchchain and N Exchange )….
Kraken, MicroStrategy and Stripe
Stripe has acquired the stablecoin company Bridge for $1.1 Billion, which solidifies its return to crypto.
Tether also unveiled in Lugano a statue honoring Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin.
The CEO of Tether, Paolo Ardoino has said that his company does not plan to go public.
Crypto community members also reacted strongly to MicroStrategy’s founder Michael Saylor’s offer of helping Microsoft implement a Bitcoin-based strategy.
Saylor claims that his BTC is going to be sent into civilization after he leaves.
Kraken also made headlines when it was reported that the crypto-exchange is looking to launch its layer-2 network.

Bitcoins above $67k
BTC’s price rose dramatically earlier this week, as highlighted in the chart above. The data shows that bulls reached a high of $69 227 on the 21st October.
Prices fell to a low of $65,440 in October before rising to $67,000.
BTC’s price fluctuated between $65,8K and $80.8K in the last 24 hours and was hovering around $67K when this article was written.
Top altcoins are outnumbered by meme coins
This week, several meme currencies reached new highs. These include Popcat (POPCAT), and Cat in a Dogs World (MEW).
Dog tokens and PolitiFi coins were also available at the event.
These meme coins are also down significantly, as traders have taken profits. POPCAT has lost -17% over the past 24 hours.
SAFE (RAY), APE and Raydium are among the top gainers
Safe (SAFE), Raydium(RAY)and ApeCoin(APE)are among the altcoins that are holding onto their gains at the end of this week.
SAFE’s price has risen by 63% and 16% respectively in just 24 hours to be the highest-valued coin in the market.
APE, which was ranked third in the ranking of best performers for this week, traded at a 58% increase.
The list includes the 100 largest cryptocurrencies in terms of market capitalization.
The top meme coin is Goatseus Maximus.
