Altcoins have a localized bias: Rates of SOL, DOGE, and XRP vary greatly by exchange
According to Coinglass data, crypto funding rates on major centralized and uncentralized exchanges have settled at neutral levels, indicating a market that is balanced, but lacking in directional conviction by derivatives traders.
Bitcoin and Ethereum funding rates are largely neutral, hovering around the 0.01% mark. BTC rates were remarkably stable (0.0053% – 0.0100%) and ETH rates were also very consistent (0.0056% – 0.0100 %)..).
This neutral funding position occurred even though Bitcoin rose daily by 1.9% to $83,586. Ethereum gained 2.2%, to $1813. The divergence suggests that the recent price appreciation was not backed by aggressive traders of perpetual futures, which reinforces the view that the market is in a holding pattern.
These figures indicate a lack in directionality among traders. The neutral readings on multiple platforms are consistent, suggesting that the market is in a holding mode.

Funding Rates: How to gauge bull vs. bear sentiment
Funding rates are periodic payments that traders exchange in perpetual futures contracts. This is done to align the contract price with the spot market. These payments are not typical trading fees. Instead, they are made directly between bullish traders and bearish trades, with the platform only facilitating the process.

A funding rate of around 0.01% is considered neutral and indicates a balance between the long and short positions. Above 0.01%, long traders will pay shorts, signaling a bullish sentiment. Below 0.00%, (negative rates), often reflects a negative sentiment with short traders paying for longs.
