Balaji Srinivasan, a former executive at Coinbase, thinks Trump could consider airdropping the newly released official memecoin among his supporters.
Srinivasan told his 1.1 Million followers on social media platform X, that Trump was “now strongly motivated to legalize crypto in the most aggressive manner possible.”
He also claims that there is an “alignment issue” with the TRUMP coin.
As context, the CEO is usually one of the biggest shareholders in a business. However, he has a strong relationship with his staff because they all own the same stock. Ideal is that all holders will rise or fall together.
You would want, by analogy, the president to align himself with the citizens so that (say), they held USA coins, and received a dividend of profits from the USA. Like the Alaska Permanent Fund.
One way to solve the problem of alignment would be to have Trump airdrop TRUMP to all US citizens. It might be simpler for him to send out an email to all Trump supporters offering some TRUMP.
“Specifically, he can give 72-hour notice to all Democrats and they will sign up on his email list just for the airdrop.”
Former Coinbase executive, says that airdropping TRUMP could represent “a different kind of social agreement” between the president and US citizenry.
TRUMP was trading at $34.98 as of the time this article is written. The crypto asset ranked 30th by market capital is down by over 30% during the last 24 hours, but still up more than 434% since its launch on Friday.
