The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) fourth roundtable on crypto regulation, held today at 1:00 p.m. ET, continues to deepen their engagement with crypto regulations. ET. This session, entitled Tokenization: Moving Assets Onchain (TradFi and DeFi merging), highlights the fusion of traditional finance (TradFi).
This event will explore how tokenization based on blockchain is reshaping asset management and capital markets strategies. The event will feature a keynote by SEC Chairman Paul Atkins and discussions with leaders from both legacy financial firms and crypto-native companies.
TradFi Giants meet Blockchain innovators at SEC Tokenization Forum
The SEC crypto-roundtable on tokenization began with remarks by key SEC figures including Commissioners Caroline Crenshaw Mark Uyeda and Hester Peirce. SEC Chairman Paul Atkins delivered the keynote speech, focusing on regulatory approaches to tokenization. This set the stage for a wider conversation about how asset tokenization has begun to transform finance. The key benefits discussed included improved liquidity, transparency, as well as market access.

Jeff Dinwoodie, a Cravath partner, will moderate the first panel. It is entitled Evolution of Finance: Capital Markets 4.0. Discussion participants include executives from BlackRock Nasdaq Franklin Templeton Invesco Fidelity Fidelity and Fidelity.
Each panelist will bring a unique perspective to the discussion on how tokenization can enable programmable assets and immediate settlement. These firms are not only experimenting with digital assets, but are also integrating them into infrastructure. Christine Moy from Apollo and Robert Mitchnick from BlackRock discuss strategies for managing tokenized assets and regulatory risks.
Tokenization: Future Perspectives and Regulation
After a brief break, The Future of Tokenization at 4 p.m. focuses on upcoming challenges and regulatory alignement. Tiffany Smith, WilmerHale, moderates a panel consisting of innovators from Chia Network (formerly Robinhood), Securitize (formerly Blockchain Capital), and Digital Asset.
Their discussion covers institutional adoption, legal frameworks and smart contract governance. Angela Walch, a researcher and independent consultant, highlights the need for more accountability in blockchain development.
