Recent price spike fueled by market demand, driven by protocol upgrades and growth.
AAVE’s DeFi metrics have soared, but its token price is still over 50% below the all-time high of $666.86. Arthur, Founder and Chief Investment Officer of DeFiance Capital highlighted this discrepancy by pointing out AAVE’s protocol metrics had surpassed previous ATHs while its token value lags. This disconnect raises the question of what’s holding back the token despite its impressive performance on-chain.
The platform has a total value (TVL) locked of $38.578 Billion, a market cap of $5.299 Billion and a token price of 351.50. AAVE has recorded a trading volume in the last 24 hours of $1.965 Billion, with staked tokens amounting to $1.039 Billion, which represents 20% of its market capital.
AAVE’s borrowing volume is $15.318 billion. This confirms its role as an important liquidity provider in Decentralized Finance (DeFi).
AAVE’s revenues have also been strong. In the last year, the fees for the protocol totaled 618.97 millions dollars, and the annual revenue reached $117.94 millions. AAVE’s annual operating costs are only $6.28 millions.
Surge in price action and trading volume
Recent surges in the token price of AAVE have been observed. The AAVE/USDT pair has increased by 30.83% from a low price of $125.73 to $359.84. The price increase has raised some questions about its causes. Some analysts speculate about the impact of future protocol upgrades and increased DeFi usage.
Money Guru, an analyst in the crypto world, said that AAVE’s moving averages (MAs), show a strong momentum. The short-term MA stands at $292.32. The medium-term MA stands at $223.90. And the long-term MA stands at $170.93.
The trading volume has also increased, with more than 786,000 tokens of AAVE traded in the last day. This shows a growing market interest in the token and a debate about its future price.
